1. Overview
Codinasion respects the rule of law and complies with valid legal requests related to our platform and services. This page outlines how law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and rights holders can contact us and what procedures apply.
2. Types of Requests We Handle
- Law enforcement data requests (e.g. subpoenas, warrants)
- Court orders and legal notices
- Copyright takedown notices (see our DMCA Policy)
- Trademark or defamation concerns
- Requests to preserve data for an active legal process
3. Legal Contact Information
All legal requests must be sent in writing to our legal point of contact:
Email: codinasion@proton.me
Note: We do not accept legal requests through other channels (e.g., support forms, social media).
4. Requirements for Legal Requests
All legal requests must:
- Be issued by a competent legal authority
- Be specific and narrowly tailored to the requested data or content
- Include sufficient information for us to identify the subject (e.g., URL, user ID, email address)
- Be written in English or accompanied by a certified English translation
5. International Requests
For requests originating outside of our jurisdiction, we require that they be made via a mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) or letters rogatory process unless otherwise required by law.
6. Data Preservation
Upon receiving a valid data preservation request, we may retain relevant records for up to 90 days, pending receipt of a formal legal request. Extensions are available upon justified request.
7. Notification Policy
Unless legally prohibited, we notify affected users when their data is subject to a legal request. This allows them to challenge or respond unless it would compromise the investigation.
8. Emergency Requests
For time-sensitive situations involving imminent harm to life or safety, you may mark your request as “URGENT” in the subject line and include a justification. We review emergency requests 24/7, but reserve discretion in disclosure.
